  1. Computer components Katy+Immy+Faith

  2. Power supply • This supplies electrical power to an electric load. The regulated power supply is one that controls the output voltage. It is also referred to an electrical power converter.

  3. ATX tower (mid-tower) case • More commonly known as base unit, computer chasse or incorrectly referred to as the CPU or hard drive. This component holds the motherboard. The power supplies are at the top and rear of the case.

  4. Central processing unit • Also referred to as a central processor unit. This is the hardware in a computer that carries out the instructions of a computer program which is done by the basic arithmetical, logical and the input and outputs of the system. The company needs to be able to process large amounts of information to give them the correct output.

  5. Random-access memory This is a form of data storage which can be accessed the stored data instantly. RAM is primarily used as a main memory in home computers and wok stations. This is useful because the company needs to be able to store large amounts of information and digital creations.

  6. Graphics/video card. • This is an expansion card which generates a feed of output images on display. Most cards offer functions such as accelerated rendering of 3D scenes and 2D graphics. This gives more option to what the company can do with the production as they can make the images have more definition.

  7. Sound card • A sound card facilitates the input and output of audio signals to and from a computer. Sound functionality can also be integrated into the motherboard by using 3 components as a plug in card. This is useful for the company as sound plays a key part in TV adverts.

  8. Hard drive(s) • Data storing device used for storing and receiving digital information that is inputted into the computer. This means that the information entered is easily and almost instantly accessed which would work well in the TV advert industry as when clients come in, the production is shown to the client instantly making the whole image of the company look good.

  9. LCD screen • Also known as liquid-crystal display which is a flat panel display, electronic visual display that uses the light modulating properties of liquid crystals. These crystals don’t emit light directly and are made up of many pixels.

  10. Keyboard • This is a type of type writer device. This enables the computer user to enter information into the computer as they see fit. It uses an arrangement of buttons to act as mechanical leavers or electronic switches.

  11. Mouse • A mouse detects two-dimensional motion on its surface. The mouse can sometimes feature other elements such as wheels to make them more easily controlable.

  12. Optical drive (DVD burner or Blu-ray)

  13. Surge Protector

  14. ATX motherboard. • Advanced technology extended is a motherboard for factor specification developed by Intel in 1995 to improve previous standards. The specification defines the key power and connector interfaces, mechanical dimensions, mounting point, I/O panel between a computer case, a mother board and a power supply.
