  1. AP Physics – Mon, August 22, 2011 • Collect nbs & digitally-turned in assts • Quiz on summer assts 1 & 2 (vectors, etc) • HW: Redo H&R chapter 2 (kinematics) #42, 49, 50, 51; 72, 74, 80, 81 or 83 AS IF IT WAS A TEST (no Facebook, music, phone, friends, notes, books, old assts, etc. SHOW ALL WORK – we will grade this like a test tomorrow in class!)

  2. AP Physics – Tues, August 23 • Go over yesterday’s quiz • Go over last night’s 8 problems (& hand back asst 3b, 4a) • Asst: Study Note: I am looking for a TA! Great Fringe Benefits!

  3. AP Physics – Wed, August 24 • Test (using class sets of TI’s) • Asst: Parts a & b of “Average Speed” Handout Note: I am looking for a TA! Great Fringe Benefits!

  4. AP Physics – Thurs August 25, 11 • Re-turn in assts 3 & 4 from summer • A word about the tests • Last night’s HW (buy college-ruled composition book this weekend) • Organized notebooks – due Monday! • Vectors mini-lab • Asst a: FINISH “vectors mini-lab” • Asst b: START “Prelim exercise” ???

  5. AP – Fri August 26,11 • Go over Vectors minilab & turn in • Vote on next topic: graphing/calc OR 2-D kinematics 3. Dominoes minilab 4. Asst: • “Pretty” Binders by Monday • Buy a college-ruled composition book, or “Quadrile” book • Do/Finish Prelim exercise (best-fitting with acceleration) • Student information Survey – please 

  6. AP, Mon August 29,11 • Turn in: Asst: • dominoes • “Pretty” Binders • Information Survey • Do/Finish Prelim exercise - GO OVER FIRST! • Look at tests • Average Speed: Data & start write-up in composition book 4. Asst: Do the Roller Coaster activity

  7. AP Tuesday , August 30 START COPYING AGENDAS TODAY: (You have a handout for the other 6 days) • Go over & turn in Roller Coaster • Notes on Instantaneous speed • Continue “Average Speed” Experiment • Asst: packet …

  8. AP Wed Aug 31st • Compare HW papers/graphs • Lecture Notes: average speed on graphs • Get data section of bullet & solar done • Gridlines on data but NOT in graph, table titles AND graph axes capped w/ units below in paren; data centered, sig figs, graphs same size & “pretty” (no legend, no x & y, etc.)…. • Start actual write-up in Composition books • Asst: finish 6-graph packet (all 6 graphs have: • A graph with dots & best-fit (instantaneous) • A graph with “bars” for the averages

  9. AP Thurs 9/1 • Lecture notes on area under the curve • Work on Average Speed Experiment • Asst: worksheets “1 & 2”

  10. AP Tuesday 9/6/11 • Turn in 6-graph packet • Compare day 1 & 2 with neighbor • Hand out “Day 3” with hints • Average Acceleration Data • HW: Day’s 1-3 collected tomorrow

  11. AP Wed 9/7/11 • Keys to day 1-3 & collect • Finish Average Speed Write-up • Do data for Average Accel • HW = Marble shot

  12. AP Thurs 9/8 • Go over HW (derivatives?) • More Average Accel data • Start write-up? • HW: 3 page worksheets on graphing due Monday

  13. AP Friday 9/9 • Turn in Marble shot • Notes: kinematics equations & calc; concavity & curvature • Finish Average Accel excel work (let me see it before you email it home) • Data centered, 5 decimals, gridlines, merged cells, fits on 1-page of composition book (sideways is OK) • Graph no y&x, white background, color-coded, no gridlines, axes 1 decimal, legend pretty • Start Accel write-up if time, BUT … • Leave Composition books with me to grade over weekend • HW: finish 3 page packet (worksheets A & B)

  14. AP Monday 9/12 • Keys to HW • “Graph Walks”, no class tomorrow = gravity experiment today • HW: write Average Acceleration in experiment portfolio (composition books)

  15. AP Tuesday 9/13 – SR kickoff • Do graph walks b-e if didn’t yesterday • Acceleration of Gravity experiment • HW: Finish writing Average Acceleration write-up; start Acceleration of Gravity one
