THE PROJECT... • Includes ALL schools from the Stellenbosch District. • Will benefit participating schools, creating opportunities for talented young writers, musicians, actors, dancers, etc. • Is also designed for ADULT students from the Stellenbosch Communities. Classes are therefore scheduled after hours. • Focuses on ORIGINAL WORKS: lyrics, scripts & music. • Runs over a two year period - Year 1: writing & Year 2: staging. • Will be a PROUDLY STELLENBOSCH Community Product!

The Ideal Student… ! Song Writers! Actors & Singers! All Ages! Students enrolling for the SONG WRITING COURSE idealy plays piano or guitar by ear and love creating original tunes or songs! Students enrolling for the PLAY WRITING COURSE are natural story tellers and/or love to write stories or poems! BOTH COURSES Are meant for scholars AND adults... We dream of discovering “long-lost talent” and giving them the opportunity to become part of a growing COMMUNITY STAGE THEATRE PROJECT Students enrolling for the STAGE PRODUCTION COURSE have natural talent for acting and singing! Curriculum Vitae of ENGELA VENTER • Engela Venter matrikuleer aan Hoërskool Punt in Mosselbaai, waarna sy musiek aan die Universiteit van Stellenbosch studeer en die grade B Mus Ed en Hons Mus Cum Laude behaal. • Sy begin haar loopbaan as musiekonderwyser in 1985 by Hoërskool Tygerberg en skuif in 1989 na Hoërskool Stellenbosch, later ook Laerskool Stellenbosch, waar sy kinders onderrig in klavier, musiekteorie, blokfluit, ritme-kitaar, sang, koor en orkes asook haar leerders voorberei vir eisteddfods en eksterne musiek-eksamens en uitstaande resultate behaal word. . • Haar passie vir musiekteater lei tot kreatiewe skeppende werk: • “Ek was bevoorreg om die afgelope 24 jaar ‘n totaal van 12 musiekproduksies staan te maak. Van die werke het ek self geskryf, maar ‘n groot uitdaging was om talentvolle jong studente te inspireer en te lei tot die ontginning van hul eie skryf- en komposisietalent. In die proses is skitterende teaterwerke geskryf en op die planke gebring!” • Musiekproduksies vir skole onder haar leiding was: GREASE (musical 1987), THE SOUND OF MUSIC (musical 1987), KINDWEES-WEESKIND (kabaret 1988), SKAAKMAT (kabaret 1990), ’n TENT VOL STERRE (musiekspel 1991), FILLIPA SE PLANEET (musiekspel 1995), ROOI PRINSES (musiekspel 1997), VIVA LA MUSICA(L) (musiekteater 1998), PEGASUS (musiekspel 2000), AANDBLOM AMORETTE (musiekteater 2004), BITTERFONTEIN, O BITTERFONTEIN (musiekspel 2012). • In 2011 wen sy ‘n WOORDTROFEES vir haar komposisie, WITLIG (‘n liedspel) in die katagorie vir ‘Beste Klassieke Musiekproduksie’ tydens die Stellenbosch Woordfees. • Engela Is getroud met Jaco Venter en is woonagtig in Somerset-Wes.
