    • Liquor outlet density above 22 licensed premises per 10,000 face the highest crime related problems

    • Correlation between accessibility of liquor outlets and anti-social behaviour and public order offences (assaults, robberies, damage)

  • Yarra has significantly higher rates of alcohol related assaults and hospital admissions compared across Victoria

  • Large proportion of reported assaults involve either the victim or offender or both are intoxicated

  • 2003-04 approx 160 alcohol related assaults
