What are PHRs? • PHRs have emerged over the past few years to place the control and management of health-related information directly into the hands of patients [4] • The number of PHRs on the market today is simply staggering; the web site myPHR.com lists a total of 100 PHRs that can be purchased (75 total) or are freely available (25 total) • Popular alternatives available to patients include: Google Health [5], Microsoft HealthVault [6], myPHR [7], iHealthRecord [8] integrated with Google Health, and WebMD [9].
