  5. International Society for Human Rights (ISHR) distributed dense black highlighter pens to journalists attending a press conference on ‘Freedom of the Press at the 2008 Olympic Games’. There can be no better way of creating awareness about freedom of press and governmental censorship. The symbolic black highlighting pen which would leave a censor bar instead of highlighting truth is good enough to communicate the intention and mission of the organization. On the pen it was spelt more clearly: ‘In many countries the press is censored every day. You can make a difference: www.igfm.de”.

  6. Absolute freedom of expression is rarely existent even in most democratic and progressive nations. But yet press is allowed to assert its freedom. But there are nations like China, Burma where press is totally owned and controlled by the government. Thus gag is very crucial to control minds of the people. Even in the modern globalised world the nations remain isolated from all information and cultural exchange. The worst atrocities and gross human right violations of the regimes often go unrecorded, unpublished and remain buried along with dreams of its people. Truth thus gets censored instead of being highlighted. http://trendsupdates.com/ishr-freedom-of-the-press-and-censorship/
