Cancer Awareness Purple Game • We will be selling purple items through our school store starting at Big Red Check-In (orientation) • 100% of all donations and proceeds from sales will be given to the Van Andel Institute & The Believe Foundation • Last year we raised over $6000 for these two charities!

Fundraising • Necessary for game socks, chocolate milk, alternate jerseys, additional coaches, equipment, professional film, Hudl system, sideline replay system, programs, dinners, dog tags, banquets, awards, t-shirts, senior gifts, pizza, website, etc. Major Fundraisers • eTeamSponsor: email campaign for all teams must be entered online by May 31st (handout) • Lift-A-Thon: last week of school for varsity players; end of summer for incoming 9th & 10th graders • Team Cards: each player is expected to sell cards; $10 cards this year (August)

  15. Eligibility • Must pass four classes 2nd Semester • If under a 2.0. GPA, player must be on a weekly progress report until adequate improvement is shown • Summer School – at Dakota 9th Grade Center • Contact Coach Merchant or your counselor for more information

Summer Calendar • Starts Monday, June 20th ends Tuesday, August 2nd • “Dead Week” - July 1st to July 10th • No weightlifting, speed camp, or any other football related activities • No contact with coaches • Physical Night @ CVHS Thursday, July 28th: 4:30-7:00pm • Practice starts August 8th at 8:00am for all levels

Weight Room • Summer Hours • Grades 9 & 10 from 11:30am – 12:30pm Mondays, Tuesday & Thursdays • Grades 11 & 12 from 8:30am – 10:00am Mondays, Tuesdays, & Thursdays • starting June 20th and ending August 2nd • A coach will always be present • Players are expected to lift at Chippewa with their teammates and coaches

Summer Camps • Middle School Football Camp: • June 16th & June 17th • 5:00 – 8:00pm • For Grades 7 through 9 Fall of 2016 • Cost: $60.00 (T-shirt included) • High School Football Camp: • July 25th & 26th • 5:00 – 8:00pm • For Grades 10 through 12 Fall of 2016 • Cost: $35.00 (T-shirt included)

  19. Summer Camps • Chippewa Speed, Agility, & Quickness Camp: • June: 21, 23, 28, 30 • July: 12, 14, 19, 21, 26, 28 • From 10:00am - 11:30am • Cost: $105.00 (T-shirt included) • Grades 6-12: Middle School through High School

  20. Equipment Handout • Monday, August 1st & Tuesday, August 2nd • Seniors – 8:00 to 9:00am – August 1st • Juniors – 11:00am to Noon – August 1st • Sophomores – 8:00 to 9:00am – August 2nd • Freshmen – 11:00am to noon – August 2nd YOU MUST BRING A LOCK IN ORDER TO GET YOUR EQUIPMENT!

  21. Requirements • Must have a physical dated after April 15, 2016 in order to practice – Physical Night at CVHS is July 28th from 4:30-7pm • Must have a lock to get equipment • FamilyID Online Athletic Registration must be completed • Pay to Participate Fee - must be paid online after August 1st & before scrimmage; form must be turned in as well in order to scrimmage • Free and Reduced lunch families see the application on the district website – must be renewed annually • IMPACT Testing is done by our trainer every 2 years

  22. First Week of Practice • Monday, August 8th: all levels meet at the appropriate field at scheduled time • Varsity: Monday – Friday • 8:00am to 2:30pm (Stadium) • Junior Varsity: Monday – Friday • 8:00am to 2:30pm (Stadium) • Freshman: Monday – Friday • 8:00am to 12:30pm (CVHS by tennis courts) • Saturday, August 13th: • Red & White Scrimmages: Frosh/JV TBD Varsity: 7:00-8:30pm • BBQ: 6:30-7:30pm • Sunday, August 14th: Off

  23. Communication • In order to stay in touch we need player and parent emails and phone numbers; please fill out the football questionnaire and turn it in to your coach before you leave. This is extremely important! • Important announcements and information will also be posted on our football website & Twitter page: www.cvbigreds.com @CVBigReds

  24. Parental Involvement • We want and need your involvement with a number of events: red & white BBQ, team dinners, fundraising efforts, banquet, programs, yearbook, etc. • Big Red Backers group will be signing up volunteers and selling items • Parents please fill out the Backers form in your folder and turn in before you leave

  25. Individual Team Meetings • At this point we will break up into individual teams • All incoming 9th graders please go with the Freshman team • All rising 10th graders please go with the Junior Varsity team • All rising 11th & 12th graders please go with the Varsity team • THANK YOU all for coming and we look forward to a great season!!!
