  2. HISTORY OF STATEWIDE TPP COLLABORATIVE • Teacher Preparation Pipeline (TPP) – STEM/CTE Collaborative • started in 2014 • 10 TPP campuses came together and created a statewide collaborative. • -TPP grant: sunsets January 2018 • -Submitted proposal to Strong Workforce Regional Planning

SWP Regional Plan: Teacher Preparation Pipeline – STEM/CTE Collaborative Regional Plan Lead College/District: Rio Hondo College Estimated Proposal Cost: $472,632 (including a $100,000 sub-award to Santa Monica College) -allotted 10k to each participating college Timeline: (1st Round) 7/1/2016 – 12/31/2018 (3 years) FY 16-17, 17/18, Fall 2018 Participating Colleges: (11) Rio Hondo, Cerritos, El Camino, Citrus, Pasadena, Compton, East LA, Pierce, Santa Monica, LA Trade Tech, LA Mission

Goal: To positively impact the current teacher shortage through the sharing of resources, standardizing practices, and providing a quality model of teacher preparation at the regional level. • Objectives: • offerprofessional development opportunities for CTE faculty • 2) develop partnerships with K-12 districts and 4-year universities • increase dual- enrollment opportunities with secondary partners • increase articulation agreements • increase cross-enrollment opportunities designed to facilitate the transfer from 2-year to 4 –year institutions.

  5. Finishing Touches for Regional Plan • Each college will need to submit: • Budget • Workplan • Metrics – will be defined at a later date • E-mail to: Lea Martinez • lmartinez@riohondo.edu • Use forms attached to e-mail.

  6. Budget • Project Lead (RHC) –need to collect budget information from all colleges • Each participating college need to submit a budget for Round 1 of the Strong Workforce Funds for the time period that began 7/1/2016 and ends December 2018. • Allocation of 10k per participating college; may submit more than 10k but have to be backed up by eligible activities in the workplan/budget. • Each college will be responsible for its own budget and expenses. • Each college will provide Rancho Community College with invoices for payment on a cost reimbursement basis, based on the budget and participant agreement • This budget should not include plans for funds that will be allocated in subsequent Rounds of the SW program where there might be plans to expand programs. Timeline • March 13 – Deadline for Colleges to Submit “Finishing Touches” Info • -Workplan (including Metrics) • -Budget • Note: If a budget and workplan are not received by the deadline, 10k will be automatically allocated to your college.
