CMA 2009 • CMA 1: Sediment/Biota guidance document finalisation; field trial in preparation • CMA 2: QA/QC, blue print strategy implementation, Elaboration of a final policy guideline for CMA and CIS • CMA 3: Standardisation (progress of the mandate)-feedback from validation of protocols (NORMAN)

Legal Needs EQS Directive implementation (statistical treatment of data, background concentration…) Review of the list of priority substances; (Annex X WFD and annex EQS Directive) QA/QC Directive implementation Execution of the mandate to CEN for standardisation Need for WB classification ( matching chem and ecological status) Link with marine strategy, drinking water directive… Scientific Needs Role of ecotoxicology ( bioassays, biomarker, TIE) for the assessment of the quality of SWB.
