  2. Who discovered Fluorine? • My element Fluorine was discovered by Ferdinand Frederick Henri Moissan a member of the International Atomic weights committee, in 1886. Its an element that is most electronegative and reactive of all elements, it’s a pale yellow corrosive gas which reacts with practically all organic and inorganic substance. The atomic number of Fluorine is 9 with a mass of (18.9998404 amu). Fluorine has a # of 9 electrons and protons and the number of neutrons is 10.

  3. Fluorine is also a non metal located in Group 17 on the periodic table because of the way it reacts and of its electrons and valence shell .At a room temperature of 25celius fluorine is a gas. The period of fluorine is 2 in the periodic table. • Fluorine has 17 known isotopes with only having 1 being stable which is f-19 with a common percentage of 100% Melting point = -219.67 degrees Celsius Boiling point= -188.12 degrees Celsius F-17 F-18 F-20 F-21 F-22 F-23 ALL UNSTABLE isotopes with a 0 percentage !

  4. 1s2-2s2-2p5 • Electron Configuration • Ionization Energy is any process by which electrically neutral atoms or molecules are converted to electrically changed atoms or molecules. The first ionization energy of fluorine is 1681.0 KJ Mol. Fluorine is most likely to form a positive charge gaining an -1 ion but forming most frequently covalent bonds. http://www.files.chem.vt.edu/RVGS/ACT/notes/electronegativity.html

  5. Electro negativity • The Atomic Radius of fluorine is 147 pm ( Vander Waals ) • Electro negativity elements is the power of an atom when in a molecule to attract electron density itself. The electro negativity of fluorine is 3.98. http://www.files.chem.vt.edu/RVGS/ACT/notes/electronegativity.htmlhttp://www.files.chem.vt.edu/RVGS/ACT/notes/electronegativity.html

  6. My important Facts • Fluorine is the most electronegative element , that has no positive oxidation states. • The lightest halogen and has a single stable isotopes. • Fluorine is used in toothpaste and in water to prevent tooth decay. Fluoride is most commonly known in water and toothpaste as fluoride. http://annadambacher.blogspot.com/2010/11/important-uses.htmlhttp://annadambacher.blogspot.com/2010/11/important-uses.html
