  3. Edward taylor • “Huswifery” by Edward Taylor • Left England at 26 (in 1668) after refusing to sign an oath of loyalty to the Church of England. • Studied at Harvard, became a physician and pastor. • Suffered many common hardships in the New World.

  4. “HUSWIFERY” • Extended metaphor comparing the creation of God to the process of weaving. • Speaker expresses his desire for God to fabricate him into a holy product of His handicraft.
