  1. Please do the following: Place signed syllabus in the middle of your table. Take out HW #1 and HW #2. Under your seat are the testing folders. Do Not Write on These FOLDERS! You each have a specific number, therefore if you write on it, you will be caught. If you see writing on it inform me immediately so I do not blame you! Homework: Print U1L2 and U1L3 Notes. HW#3 Complete the last page of U1L1 notes AND write the postulate number from the textbook next to each Task. Pg. 9 #9-12, 18-22, 31-34 Updates: Unit 1 Quiz 1 is Thursday/Friday (1.1-1.3) Welcome to Week 2!

  2. Agenda • Collect Syllabus • Finish U1L1 • Materials Quiz • Review HW #1 and HW #2

  3. Learning Objective By the end of this period you will be able to: • Identify and model points, lines, and planes. • Apply basic facts about points, lines, and planes. As we are completing the notes I will be stamping your homework!

  4. 1.1 Points, Lines, and Planes Let’s review from last week! I am going to call on you and you will tell me what you know about that vocabulary word. Undefined Terms Point Line Plane Collinear Coplanar Segment Endpoint(s)

  5. 1.1 Points, Lines, and Planes In order for lines to change direction they must stop! Therefore, we have a segment which is a part of a line. Combine the definition of a segment and endpoint.

  6. 1.1 Points, Lines, and Planes If we have a beginning point and just keep traveling in a straight line with no end we have a ray!

  7. 1.1 Points, Lines, and Planes (2) Practice: Draw and label each of the following. • A segment with endpoints A and M. • Opposite rays with a common endpoint K. • Line LM that lies in plane LMK.

  8. 1.1 Points, Lines, and Planes (3) Practice: From the diagram, identify the following: • Two Opposite Rays. • A point on BC. • A plane containing E, D, and B. • A point non-coplanar to plane N. We are going to skip the cool down (you may cross it off) and go straight into the materials quiz.

  9. Materials Quiz (8 minutes) I will come around the room and check off the items you do not have. This section must be completed by me. When you finish place the quiz on the stool and begin the homework from the guided notes.

  10. HW Review I am going to display the answers on the PowerPoint or doc camera. I will give you 4 minutes to check solutions and to compare with your tablemates. If you see a mistake you made, correct it with your colored pen. What questions your tablemates could not answer, we will go over as a class.

  11. Review HW #1 and #2HW#1 Pg. 9 #3-8, 13-17 AND HW #2 Worksheet Worksheet (1) 67 (2) 17 (3) 5 (4) 10 (5) --------- (6) 30 (7) -1 (8) -9 (9) ½ Pg. 9 #3-8, 13-17 (4) BD, AC (6) C, B, or D (8) F G
