  4. Paragraph Structure How the details are usually presented Writers use one or more structures to present organized sentences Sometimes the structure is obvious to the reader because of signal words

  5. Signal Words • Are signals that help the reader sort out information and help clarify the main idea or thesis • For example, to illustrate, for instance, like, too, also, but, yet, however, groups, kinds, types, because, first, steps, next, finally, defined as, means, etc.
