Malmö – the growth center of the region • Population increased for the 26th year in a row (+5000 in 2010) • Malmö had 1.5 million visitors staying overnight in 2009 (80% from Sweden) • In addition, approx. 5 million visitors made a daytrip to Malmö (excluding commuters) • 6,000 homes built in the last five years • Malmö is ranked number 15 in Sweden concerning the number of new companies in 2010 i.e. 8.6 new companies/1,000 inhabitants.
