  1. Avoid giving carpets to dry cleaners. Here’s why There are a huge difference between machine made and handmade carpet because if you have a machine made carpet then you can do dry cleaning but if you have a handmade area rug then never give it to a dry cleaner. It is an expensive item and there are few reasons to avoid giving your beautiful rug to dry cleaner for washing- Handknotted Rug:Handmade carpets are made in handknotted, handtufted technique and in this technique, weavers don’t use power loom. They weave area rugs on handlooms and made by hand. This is interweaving technique. If they dry-clean it, the thread of carpet will come out. Avoid Chemical: Sometimes dry cleaner use chemical solution for cleaning clothes etc. but for the handmade carpet, never use chemical solution otherwise the pile of carpet will be damaged. You can use natural solution like vinegar, shampoo, baking soda for cleaning spots from carpet. Never Scrub it: Handmade carpets are 100% made by hand so never use a hard brush to scrub carpet for removing spots. If you use hard

  2. brush then the pile may lost the beauty. But you send your rug to dry cleaner then there is no surety that they don’t use a hard brush. Protect from color spots: It is not confirm that they will clean your carpet individual. If they mix with another cloth which has not 100% fixed color then the color of carpet will mix with your carpet and you cannot remove from it. So avoid giving your rug to dry cleaner. Clean your handmade carpet and rug at home because it is 100% hand washable area rug. You can use detergent, water, and shampoo for it. You can vacuum it at your home. If you want to clean it outside then give it to a carpet manufacture because they have better knowledge about handmade carpet. They will clean it perfectly.
