  1. How many various types of Persian rugs are there? There are lots of Persian rugs style. In this post, we will take a look at all the different types of Persian carpets available. To the royalty of Persia, the demand of these majestic and “Splendid Carpets” adorn their floors and walls… We can say that these “Magic Carpets” have travelled a long way. Tabriz Rugs These rugs originated from Tabriz, the capital city of Azerbaijan. Tabriz rugs are one of the oldest rug weaving centres in the region. These are high-quality rugs with a cotton or silk warp and a wool or wool/silk pile. The patterns range from teardrop medallions to hunting scenes and floral trees. These rugs are precious and can only be found in exclusive private collections and museums. 2. Heriz Rugs These are the rugs with Bright, vibrant colours and characteristic bold patterns. Heriz rugs always feature an oversized medallion in the centre, with large corner pieces and double or triple outline. They are very durable and will last for generations. Kashan Rugs The corner and medallion pattern on an ornately patterned floral field is a trademark of Kashan rugs. The colours used in the design usually combine rich reds, deep blues, and ivory with the occasional splotches of green, yellow, and burnt orange. There is high quality with a knot count. Nain Rugs Nain rugs are high quality with excellent quality wool and a knot count of about 300 psi to 700 psi. The patterns are very complex and mainly consist of green or blue intertwined branches with tiny flowers woven on a light or white ivory background. Sarouk Rugs Sarouk Carpets are of a fine compact weave, with mellow colours, mainly featuring medallion designs. Compatible with contemporary or traditional decor, a Sarouk Rug complements a wide array of rooms (both large and small) known for striking colour, durability and charm. Mashad Rugs Mashad rugs (also spelt: Mashhad or Meshad) typically feature alone, oversized Shah Abbasi medallion in the centre on an elaborate background filled with floral motifs in a curvilinear design. These rugs are mainly large with a wool pile and a cotton foundation. Balouchi Rugs Because of Balouchi rug’s nomadic tribal original, you’ll rarely find an ample sized Balouch rug. These small rugs have simple geometric patterns and are woven with dyed blue or dark red sheep wool. The edges use goat or camel hair in brown or beige. Copyright © 2021 Rugs Direct.

  3. Qum Rugs Also famous as Kom, Koum, Qhum, Kumm, or Ghom, these rugs are woven in the Qum province of Iran. These rugs are high quality. They are tightly knotted, with the luxurious pile of cotton or silk. And intricate designs include flowers, birds, medallions, hunting scenes and gardens in the dark blue, reddish-brown or orange.
