  1. Optic Chiasma Location: In the forebrain directly in front of the hypothalamus. Function: It is the intersection between the left and right optic nerves. It allows the images on the nasal sides of each retina to cross over to the opposite sides of the brain, making the images from either side of the field from both eyes to be taken to the correct side of the brain where they will be combined together.
