It happened so fast that no one saw it coming, a disease that didn’t exist until it infected millions. People watched as the dead rose. Some saw it as a miracle, some didn’t. The optimists were wrong.
Those that were dead awoke. Quickly, the world fell to the disease. People soon realized that those who died or were bitten morphed into zombies.
The few that survived sought out each other and formed fenced in towns. One of these towns was named Mountainside. In this town was a family of two, the Imura brothers.
Benny Imura is the brother of Tom Imura, A bounty hunter. Benny has known the rot and ruin his whole life and nothing but the horror of his parents death remains with him. After reaching the age to find a job, 15, Benny struggles to find one and must accept his brother’s offer to become a bounty hunter.
As a bounty hunter Benny’s main duties are to find the undead family members of his benefactors and to give them the respectable peace that they deserve. Though, not all bounty hunters live by this code of ethics, such as Charlie “Pink-Eye” Matthias.
These people hold contests and games in which a poor soul , usually, must fight for their lives.
As Benny ventures out into the world he finds himself disturbed by the cruel ways of other bounty hunters. Soon his friend is kidnapped and brought to the aforementioned “games”. As he travels across the Rot and Ruin he finds friendship in a girl who has lived her entire life by herself.
