  2. Juniata College is an private independent, 4-year liberal arts college located in Huntingdon, PA.

  3. Huntingdon is a small town nestled in the Allegheny Mountains, about a 45 minute drive from State College, PA.

  4. Juniata College began in 1876 with an affiliation with the Church of the Brethren protestant religion. It takes pride in its religious and sociological diversity.

  5. In the fall of 2013, Juniata had 1619 total students. 57% were Women; 96% were Full-time; 9% were from other countries and 9% were from a domestic minority.

  6. Juniata College doesn’t have majors or minors. Instead, students create their own POE, or Program of Emphasis, around a core of essential classes for their field/s of study.

  7. Juniata College is well-known for its excellent science programs, especially pre-medicine.

  8. Juniata also has other superb sciences programs, including physics, biology, geology and environmental science. Students can even live at the college field station and conduct their own research during their junior and senior years.

  12. Another tradition is “All Class Night,” when each class writes, produces and acts in a skit based on a central theme. (My freshmen class “won” 4th place.)

What makes Juniata special? • 90% of all students participated in distinctive hands-on learning. • 95% wereemployed or in grad school six months after graduation. • 96%graduated in four or fewer years. • 94% pre-medical and health professions students gained admission to medical or professional school. • 100% students applied to law school were accepted.
