  3. Usage of UMD repos • Do you - or your colleagues - use UMD as reference distribution for the middleware deployed in your site? • Yes, for all the services available in UMD: 40% (32) • Yes, but not for all the services: 17% (14) • No, installing from other sources: 42% (34)

Overall opinion • What is your overall opinion on UMD? • Including only the sites using UMD repos • I do not think that UMD is useful in my case 2.17% (1 ) • –UMD is a useful service, but can be improved 41.30% (19) • –It is a good service and a real added value for my site 52.17% (24) • –I do not know 4.35% (2)

Added value of UMD • What do you consider to be an added value of UMD with respect to other repositories (you can choose multiple options)? • Unique repository that includes most of the services used in my site 76.74% (33 ) • Protection from non verified updates of some components in EPEL 76.74% (33) • Additional testing performed in verification and staged rollout and additional installation notes 65.12% (28) • Aggregated information about product releases provided by different sources 46.51% (20)

Information on UMD releases • What do you think of the available online material about the UMD releases? • Including all the answers • UMD is not advertised properly, I barely knew about it 11.67% (7) • I would like to have more information available in the repository web site 51.67% (31) • I think that the web site is comprehensive and provides most of the needed information 36.67% (22)

Issues • What do you consider an issue with UMD • All answers • UMD releases are not frequent enough, the frequency is not sufficient to provide the important updates in time for the sites 48.65% (18) • It takes too long to test in staged rollout or verification a product, it should be released in UMD in the first update useful after the packages have been produced by the developers 21.62% (8) • The tests performed in verification and staged rollout are not enough to spot some major problems 54.05% (20) • UMD product coverage misses some important components (please, specify in the “Other” box) 8.11% (3)
