  2. SORRENTO 2015 Welcome to this evening’s launch for the joint Italian and Music trip to Sorrento, Italy which will take place during the school’s challenge week in July 2015

  4. SORRENTO 2015 - VISIT AIM We believe that every young person should experience the world beyond the classroom as an essential part of learning and personal development, whatever their age, ability and circumstances.

  5. Sorrento 2015 Sorrento is regarded as one of the most stunning areas of Europe, with dramatic landscapes; a wonderful coastline and beautiful white-washed towns overlooking the blue Mediterranean Sea. Sorrento is a fantastic base for exploring the breath-taking Amalfi Coast and the enchanting Isle of Capri, not to mention the opportunity to visit Mount Vesuvius and the buried towns of Pompeii and Herculaneum

  7. SORRENTO 2015 - ACCOMMODATION We will stay in either the Hotel Villa Igea in Sorrento or the Hotel Giosue a Mare, both 3* hotels ideally situated for exploring the area.

  8. SORRENTO 2015 • Students stay in a multi bedded room, in single beds. • All rooms have private facilities • Towels are not provided • Rooms are cleaned but students are expected to keep them tidy

  13. SORRENTO 2015 Trip to Vesuvius and Herculaneum - ancient Roman town destroyed by the eruption of Vesuvius in AD79.

  14. SORRENTO 2015 Concerts can take place in a range of churches / cathedrals such as the Duomo dei Santi Filippo e Giacomo in Sorrento or as part of music festivals that run in different towns throughout the year.

  17. SORRENTO 2015 - COST The cost will be in the region of £900.00, due to the flights and the length of the trip – 6 days, 5 nights. £120.00 deposit this evening. The rest to be paid in instalments.

  18. SORRENTO 2015 The cost includes: • Return flights from the UK to Naples. (Flight times subject to availability). • Airport taxes and air passenger duty at current rates • Resort Coach use for transfers to visits and concert venues • Accommodation for 5 nights Half Board. Students in multi bedded rooms. • 2 x concert arrangements including publicity and advertising (please note that concert requests will be made after your booking with us) • Half day excursion with guided tour • 10 euros lunch money per day

  19. SORRENTO 2015 What’s NOT included? • Spending money • Any extra travel insurance you may feel is necessary • Passport fees etc..

  20. SORRENTO 2015 Passport: All students travelling must hold a full passport which is valid for six months after entry to Italy. If non-British nationals have any doubts, please contact the Italian embassy to check visa requirements. If you have any doubts about passports or visa requirements, please see me at the end of this presentation.

  21. SORRENTO 2015 European Health Insurance Cards (EHIC) All travellers should carry a European Health Insurance card The new EHIC replaced the old E111 form. Card holders can receive medical treatment free of charge, avoiding the need to claim back money from insurers. The card is valid for up to 5 years and there is no charge. Forms are available from Post Offices or on-line from www.dh.gov.uk/travellers.

  22. SORRENTO 2015 Money: The currency in Italy is the Euro. We recommend that students take with them the equivalent of £50 as pocket / spending money.
