  13. NOVEMBER (For College Applicants) • Demographic info & mid-semester marks sent to OCAS… Nov. 29th • Apply on-line - need your OEN# • No PIN number is required • Keep a record of your username & password • Keep a record of your OCAS#

  14. NOVEMBER (For University Applicants) • Demographic Info sent to OUAC – Nov. 13th • P.I.N.’s sent to Guidance • Begin applying On-line using P.I.N. • (Deadline - Jan. 16th)

  15. Your access codes How do you get your access codes? • Your counsellor will give you a confidential letter containing your access codes. They are: your PIN (Personal Identification Number), your school number and your student number. Together they give you access to your personal university application. Your PIN is confidential! Don’t share it with anyone else!

Dates to Remember (College Applicants) • Feb 1st – deadline for equal consideration APPLY EARLY!!! • Mid-Feb. – semester 1 marks sent to OCAS • Feb-April- offers of admission made • April 23rd: semester 2 mid-term marks sent to OCAS • May 1st – final date to respond to offers of admission • June 15th –earliest date to pay tuition fees • July 2nd – final marks sent

Dates to Remember (University Applicants) • Jan 16th – deadline to apply – APPLY EARLY!!! • Feb 7th – all amendments to be completed • Feb 15th – Semester 1 marks sent to OUAC • Mar – May 25th - offers of admission made • April 26th –Semester 2 mid-term marks sent to OUAC • May 29th – final date for U’s to inform you • June 1st – respond to offers of admission • July 10 – final marks sent • August - summer school marks sent

  23. What this means for You • Offers March until May • Gr. 11 & 12 U/M finals + Semester 2 mid-term marks • students with strong academic records can expect March admissions • others will receive responses in May after grades are received by the Universities • CONDITIONAL pending FINAL GRADES

  24. FULL DISCLOSURE • Ontario Universities and colleges support the full disclosure of ALL attempts at a course • Each university should state how it will treat repeated course marks in considering students

  29. AMERICAN UNIVERSITIES • SAT required for most – some accept ACT There is a centralized application processing centre for certain USA colleges and universities - see Guidance Counsellor after internet research

  30. OUAC & Other Provinces • OUAC will send marks to other provinces if you sign the release authorization and put OUAC # on out-of-province application • Bishop’s, Concordia, McGill, Dalhousie, UBC, Simon Fraser, and Victoria all have agreements with OUAC

  31. Advice From OUAC • Consider universities around the province, NOT only close to home • Ontario universities are respected for their quality academic programs and the high employment rates of graduates across all disciplines • Take advantage of what they have to offer
