  1. Chemistry Bonds and what holds molecules together

  2. Day 4 ASSURE A: 15-18 year old kids who are mostly white. A 2:3 mix of girls to boys. Grade levels ranging from 10th grade to 12th grade. 90% white, 5% black, 5% Hispanic. Many different religions in the classroom. 10% have mild ADHD. All students seem healthy and normal weight.

  3. Day 4 ASSURE S: At the end of the lesson students will: • Develop group trends for the periodic table of elements for which groups form how many bonds and have how many lone pairs by podcast in one class period with 90% accuracy.

  4. Day 4 ASSURE S: • Working in groups students will use a podcast to learn about periodic trends. They will then label the groups with the appropriate number of bonds and lone pairs.

  5. Day 4 ASSURE U: • Materials will be previewed to make sure they work and are appropriate for class learning. All materials will be checked to make sure they are in working order before the class begins. All content will be reviewed at least 2 days in advance to make sure all content easily understood and so that I may expand on it during class time. Students will be introduced to the materials and given an explanation of what everything is.

  6. Day 4 ASSURE R: • Learners will have to provide feedback regularly on their learning progress. I will walk around the room to ask students to describe the trend of a random periodic group.

  7. Day 4 ASSURE E: • Learners will have to complete this lesson with an 90%. At the end of the lesson the students will Label a periodic table for evaluation. After the lesson is complete I will assess whether or not this was the best way to teach the types if bonds and revise it for next time. • Children will have to learn the trend of the periodic table, utilizing a podcast within the class period, and will have to receive an 90% average on the evaluation.
