Growing Popularity of Rotary Club of Hobart The rotary club of Hobart is basically a small group, approximately 25, businessmen and women who get together to share good food, knowledge and alliance whilst working together in service to local, national and international communities. The group takes part in Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, Mini United Nations Awards, Rotary Youth Driver Awards and National Youth Science Forum and are also sponsoring a Tasmanian teenager on exchange in France. The club has been active towards providing social service needy people. It has also funded the supply and installation of an outdoor gym at the beginning of the Hobart Bike Track on the Regatta Ground. to the Over the last 35 years, the rotary club of Hobart has been involved in various community - based projects in Hobart and surrounding areas. The club has been internationally supporting the Polio Plus, the Shelterbox Project, malaria treatment in the Solomon Islands and the Rotary Health Foundation. If you wish to become the member of the club, you can contact the personal secretary and attend one meeting as a guest. As a rotary club of Hobart member, you are expected to attend at least 50% of regular club meeting and can also make up for the half of these meetings at other clubs in any part of the world. Rotary Hobart has been active in many community based projects, out of which some are mentioned below: Outdoor Gym –rotary club of Hobart has recently supported the purchase and installation of a $27,000 outdoor gym which is hugely popular with everyone from teenagers to 90-year-olds. Loui’s van –rotary club helps the van with a monthly contribution and guaranteeing constant support. It is an after hour’s mobile service which provides food, information and support to people who are in need. Ronald McDonald House–It provides shelter for sick children and parents from all over Tasmania. Rotary Hobart provides monthly contribution to pay for the monthly consumables like toilet rolls and washing powder. Rotary Tasmania works on many objectives. Firstly, provide members and visitors with an enjoyable club meeting. Secondly, supporting the local community especially disadvantaged young Tasmanians, the elder people and the homeless. Thirdly, promoting the ideals and achievements of rotary all over Tasmania. Last but not the least, actively participating in fundraising the Tasmanian community to support our local, national and international service project.
