  8. CIS major / minor student survey • Why perform a survey? • Enrollment committee was looking for a tangible way to measure the success of marketing and communication efforts • Provide MISA with feedback • Take a pulse of the currently declared major and minor students

  11. Initial Awareness “Other” Comments: • Compliments my Professional Skillset • Campus tour while still in high school. Dean Liz and others from the college of business were very friendly and I liked that CIS was through the college of business here at Kent. • Explore degrees website (GPS) • Requirement for Aeronautics – Aviation Management • High School • E&Y Employee Presentation in class • Found it myself • I’ve always had a knack for computers • Have always known of a CIS major • Academic Advisor - College of Business; said Best major for IT • Advisor in college of technology • My Uncle does CIS work and turned me on to it.

Deciding Factor “Other” Comments: • Relevant Work Experience in Field • Minor aligns with current work experience/path • Being very computer savvy and always wanting to manage IT systems, caused me to choose CIS major • My ex girlfriend pressured me • I wanted to be a computer science major, but I am not good with the math, so I had to choose this instead. • Requires fewer math courses than a Computer Science major • I took an IT class the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center
