  3. A square and an equilateral triangle have the same perimeter. The length of each of side of the square, in feet, is x + 8. The length of each side of the equilateral triangle, in feet, is 4x. Find the length of each side of the square and the triangle and the perimeter of each figure.

  4. Peppy Pets charges a flat fee of$15 plus $3 per hour to keep a dogduring the day. Happy Hounds chargesa flat fee of $21 plus $1 per hour. Forhow many hours is the total feecharged by the companies the same?
