  1. Watch Out For Signs of Dehydration This Summer We’ve all heard that it’s important to drink plenty of water, but it’s more important than ever to do so in the summer when it’s hot. That’s because your body loses fluids when it perspires to cool you off. And if you don’t drink enough water to replace those fluids, you can become dehydrated. Some signs that you may be dehydrated include: Thirst Dry, sticky mouth Dry, sunken eyes Dry skin Headache Lethargy Less frequent urination Dark yellow urine

  2. Besides maintaining a normal body temperature, your body needs water for many other important functions such as lubricating joints, protecting the spinal cord and sensitive tissues, and to help get rid of waste. That’s why, according to the Mayo Clinic, you should seek immediate medical attention if you develop signs of severe hydration such as extreme thirst, a lack of urination, shriveled skin, and dizziness or confusion. Also, keep in mind that older adults and children are more susceptible to dehydration than others so it’s important to pay closer attention for signs that they may be dehydrated. Drinking plenty of water and other fluids can help you stay hydrated this summer. But if you don’t like the way the water in your home tastes or smells, you may not drink as much as you should. If you’d like to improve your home’s water quality, we can test it for you. If we find any issues, we will recommend the right solution, whether you need a small reverse-osmosis unit to filter contaminants out of tap water or a whole-house water softening system.
