  5. Percent Equation • Here is the equation that you will need to solve. • Percent * base = amount

  6. Problems • A) Write as a decimal and as a %. • B) What is 47% of 80? • C) 74 is 45% of what number? • D) 234 is what percent of 745?

  7. Solution • A) = .4286 = 42.86% • B) First change the % to a decimal or fraction. • .47*80 = 37.6

  8. C) 74 = .45 * x, where x is some number. X = 164.44 • D) 234 = x * 745 = .314 = 31.4%
