  1. Writing Journal • Vocabulary – When you have a vocabulary entry (word of the day), write down the word, definition, part of speech and one example of how to use the word. Then write your own sentence using the word. • Grammar & Mechanics – When you have questions about grammar and mechanics of the English language, write the correct answer out completely in your journal. When we review the correct answer, you will need to write notes about why the answer you chose is right or wrong.
