  1. Who Covers Oklahoma? WE DO! We are Oklahoma’s only STATEWIDE PUBLIC TELEVISION NETWORK covering Oklahoma border to border and beyond! • America’s Watching PBS The demographic breakdown of PBS' audience mirrors the overall U.S. population with respect to race/ethnicity, education and income. • PBS Reaches More Viewers Some 80 million people in almost 50 million households watch public television during an average week. • Most American households (67%) and over 133 million people tune into public television each month. • PBS not only reaches a diverse audience – it also reaches more viewers than comparable cable networks. • In Fact, PBS averaged a 1.7 primetime rating during the 2004-2005 season. • PBS' audience is almost double the size of the History Channel's, over twice the size of A&E's and Discovery's, and five times that of Bravo's. • Extraordinary Programming PBS is a consistent leader in television’s most prestigious competitions. In 2006, for the ninth consecutive year, PBS won more Daytime Emmy’s for children’s programming than all broadcast and cable networks. PBS also continued to dominate the News & Documentary Emmy’s for the sixth year in a row, winning five awards. • PBS is #1 in Public Trust For the third consecutive year, a Roper Public Affairs & Media poll shows Americans consider PBS the nations most trusted institution among nationally known organizations. • The majority of Americans think it’s very important to have public television (61%). Two out of five Americans think the same about commercial broadcast television (42%). Just over a third think it’s very important that we have cable television (36%). • PBS remains the network with the most trusted news and public affairs programs, with 39% trusting its programs a great deal. CNN and Fox News tied for second at 26%.
