NRT – RRT Co-Chairs Meeting • Co-Chairs Meeting covered 2 ½ days • RRT 3 Attendees included: Captain Gibbons, Dennis Carney, Dave Ormes, Linda Baines & Linda Marzulli + Ed Levine • Deepwater Horizon dominated agenda • Prelude was NRT Dispersants Conference • February 23rd in Arlington, VA • RRT 3 Attendees included: Ben Anderson, Mike Chezik, Kevin Boyd, Dennis Carney + Ed Levine

  3. NRT – RRT Co-Chairs Meeting NRT Dispersants Conference Report-out • Subsea Dispersants Subcommittee (new NRT subcommittee) is being created; to include RRT participation. Bob Pond (USCG-HQ) to chair. Timeframe 18-24 months. • SMART Protocol – to be revised by S&T Committee; tentative revised protocol by June 2011. Ed Levine engaged in this issue.

NRT – RRT Co-Chairs Meeting Building an NRS Structure for a Catastrophic Spill or Release. • Discussion of what happened during DWH at national level (IASG); regional level (RRT 6 meetings; no joint incident-specific meetings with RRT 4) • Discussion of NIC, SAO and FOSC Roles • Political Leadership: White House meetings & Governor calls – discussions spill into tactics

  5. NRT – RRT Co-Chairs Meeting Oil Spill Response Strategies • Overview of DWH booming operations, planning for berms, in-situ burns, waste management efforts and NOAA led efforts on dispersants research
