Jazz Music. Folaranmi Aremu-Bashir Digital Literacy 7/10/12. Ragtime. This form of music was one of the precursors of Jazz music. It’s popularity was at it’s peek in the beginning of the 20 th century. One similarity was the syncopated rhythm of ragtime music.

  2. Ragtime • This form of music was one of the precursors of Jazz music. • It’s popularity was at it’s peek in the beginning of the 20th century. • One similarity was the syncopated rhythm of ragtime music. • Most famous Ragtime composer was Scott Joplin.

  3. Swing Music • This form of Music became popular in the early 1920’s. • Duke Ellington was an important musician of this Era.

  4. Bebop Music • This form of Jazz was created only for the best Jazz musicians. • This form of Jazz consisted of very fast tempos and very advanced rhythms.

  5. Jazz Fusion • This form of music consists of different genre’s such as Funk and forms of music using electronic musical instruments. • Herbie Hancock and was one of the largest pioneers of this music genre.
