6. LEGEND 1. Havens house is where a lot of excitement takes place in the book. Here is where Ashley does most of her wedding planning and where Haven gets into a lot of arguments with her family. 2. Lydia Catrell’s house is where Haven’s mom’s best friend lives. Lydia changes Haven’s mom’s outlook on life and also changes her style. 3. Haven’s dad, Mac, lives in this house. This house used to belong to Lorna Queen, a.k.a. the weather pet. But since Mac and Lorna are married this is now their house. Haven doesn’t spend a lot of time here due to Lorna.

7. Legend continued 4. This is the Llewellyn’s house. The Llewellyn’s like to blast their T.V. so you can always hear the theme song from Bewitched from Haven’s porch. 5. This is where Gwendolyn Rogers lives. Gwendolyn recently went into and out of the modeling business really quick. Once she was out she was very depressed and sad. Haven would see her out in her yard at night looking very sick and weak. 6. This is Casey Melvin’s house. Casey is one of Haven’s friends. Casey went away to camp and came back a rebel.

8. Legend continued 7. 5A Rock Ridge Apartments is where Ashley, Haven’s older sister, will live with her fiancé once they get married. 8. Inside the Holiday Inn is Razino’s bar. Haven’s mom goes to Razino’s with Lydia as the girls night out. 9. Felice’s Ladies Fashions is a store in the Lakeview mall. Nothing happens in this store, but Haven does walk by the store in the book. 10. This is the Gourmet Cheese Shop, a place in the mal, where Sumner embarrasses Ashley by doing a corny cheese commercial.

9. Legend Continued 11. This store in the Lakeview mall is called Sandwiches N’ Such. This is where Haven and her mom have lunch after they get fitted for the dresses they will wear for Ashley’s wedding. 12. Yogurt Paradise is a place in the mall where Haven visits on her breaks from the store Little Feet. 13. This is Dillard’s and this store is located in the Lakeview Mall. Dillard’s is where Ashley, Haven, and Haven’s mom are fitted fr their dresses. This is also where Ashley works. 14. Belks is a store in Lakeview Mall. Nothing happens at Belk but Haven does watch the seniors do their laps from Belks to Dillards.

10. Legend continued 15. Vengo is a little hole in the wall restaurant where Haven’s dad, Mac, takes Haven to diner. 16. The Candy Shack is a miniscule store in the mall. Haven only watched the younger children go and buy candy there after buying shoes from Little Feet. 17. Little Feet is a store in Lakeview Mall where Haven worked for half of the story. Haven was fired after an incident at Little Feet. 18. This is the church. In this church Haven’s dad, Mac, and Lorna tie the knot. It is also the church where Ashley and Lewis will get married.

11. Legend continued 19. This star on the map is the Senior Citizen Center. This is the place where Sumner has one of his many jobs. Here is where he partner dances with an elderly lady. 20. This is Lincoln High School where Haven goes to school during the school year. 21. This is Lincoln High School foot ball field. Haven doesn’t do anything here but she does talk a little about the players. 22. The Lincoln High School baseball field is what this place is called. Haven once again doesn’t do anything here but she does talk about their players.

12. Legend continued 23. This is Virginia Beach, Virginia. This is where Haven’s family went on vacation before her parents were divorced. Sumner went with them on this vacation. 24. This is the Creative Playground Park. Here is where Haven runs away to so she can think important facts out. 25. This is the WTSB News Channel 5 Center. This is where Haven’s dad, Mac, works. Lorna Queen also works there and that was how she and Mac met.

13. That Summer Essay In That Summer by: Sarah Dessen, there is a girl named Haven. Haven is going through some tough and confusing times, her parents are divorced now. Some significant events that took place in That Summer by: Sarah Dessen is Haven’s parents divorce, Ashley and Sumner break up, and Haven’s mall fiasco. All of these events made That Summer an excellent book. First, in the book That Summer, Haven’s parents were divorced in the beginning. Haven’s dad, Mac, had an affair with one of his co-workers at the WTSB News Channel Five center. Her name was Lorna Queen and she was the weather forecaster for news channel five. After Haven’s parents divorced a wee bit later Haven’s dad, Mac, was married to Lorna Queen at the town church. Haven and Ashley, Haven’s older sister, attended the wedding but Haven’s mother did not. A few weeks after the wedding Mac and Lorna announced that they were expecting a baby. That “fantastic” news just flabbergasted Haven. Second, in the book That Summer, Ashley and Sumner, the perfect couple, broke up. Ashley and Sumner were like two peas in a pod, Haven thought. Haven’s family invited Sumner to go on their family vacation to Virginia Beach, Virginia. They asked Sumner because he helped Haven’s family get along and have more enjoyable time together. Finally, one spooky and horrible Halloween Ashley dumped Sumner in the drive way after an eventful Halloween party they went to. Haven found out exactly what happened that night one year later. Ashley had walked in on Sumner and another girl. Finally, in the book That Summer by: Sarah Dessen, Haven had a huge mall fiasco. Haven was upset at her dad, Mac, because she just found out about the baby. She was stressed and mad at the world. So, Haven went to work at Little Feet in the mall and she found out that today at the mall was the first day of the Lakeview Mall Hot Summer Deals Sidewalk Sale. That basically consisted of all the stores putting all the junk they couldn’t sell outside and slashed the prices in half. It’s basically like the day after Thanksgiving. Well Haven encountered unpleasant, inconsiderate, and snobby people throughout the day and she was really upset. So when this really angry lady threw a shoe at the pile it bounced up and hit Haven in the head. Well Haven had, had it by then so she came out from behind the table and threw the shoe back at the lady and ran to the neighborhood park. That park was called Creative Playground. There were no charges filed thankfully, but Haven was fired of course. That Summer by: Sarah Dessen was a thrilling book full of fascinating events. Some events that made me sit on the edge of my seat were Haven’s parents divorce, Ashley and Sumner’s break up, and Haven’s mall fiasco. My suggestion is you find this amazing boot, That Summer and read it because when you are reading the book you will never want to put it down.
