  20. Promoting the PAWSitive If a mistake or error in judgment occurs, we make every effort to redirect with respect so that he/she can learn from the experience. The following process may occur, depending upon the level of infraction: 1. Reminder of Expectation 2. Describe Expected Behavior 3. Debrief/ReteachExpectation(s) 4. Problem-Solving Sheet or Home Contact, as appropriate 5. Referral to Office

Level One Behaviors * do not require administrative involvement * do not significantly violate therights of others * do not appear chronic in natureEx: calling out in class, running in the hallway, refusal to complete work, inappropriate language, etc.Level Two Behaviors* significantly violate the rights of others OR* put others at risk of harm OR* are chronic level one behaviorsEx: arguing with the teacher, talking back, excessive talking which disrupts learning, inappropriate physical contact, etc.Level Three Behaviors* violate HCPSS policies OR* violate MD state laws/policies OR* are chronic level two behaviors OR* require administrative involvementEx: Physical attack of student/staff, major destruction of property, inappropriate slurs regarding race/ethnicity/religion/gender, possessing a weapon or a look-a-like weapon, etc.
