  1. PIRs 1. Are conditions set for Air Assault? Indicator: 70% of ADA systems known, no significant combat power near LZs, friendly artillery along PL Oak (FFIR) NAIs – 2, 3, 4, 11, 12, 13, 14 Decisions: Go or no-go for air assault at Saatly, Imishli, and/or Birmay. LEIOV – Artillery units set along PL Oak 2. Will 4ID lose control of the Imishli or Birmay crossing sites after initially securing them through air assault? Indicator: Counterattacks by 77MID, destruction/capture of bridges NAIs – 2, 3, 4 Decisions: Shift unit crossing areas, re-designate main effort LEIOV – Lead maneuver BNs are across the Araks 3. Will the 8th and 5th IFC position forward to influence 4ID river crossing operations? Indicator: IFC-E positions west from OBJ CHARLIE towards OBJ BRAVO NAIs – 7, 10 Decisions: Tactical pause to reduce/degrade IFC-E operational capability LEIOV – Lead maneuver BNs are positioned at PL OAK 4. Will 18TD conduct counterattack against 4ID prior to breaking out of bridgehead? Indicator: 2 or more Brigades of 18 TD attacking NW of OBJ Bravo towards Araks, shifting of IFC forces north, concentration of enemy AI/CAS against lead maneuver units. NAIs – 1, 2, 9 Decisions: hasty defense, re-designate main effort/decisive operation LEIOV – When breakout begins from Bridgehead 5. When/Where will AH forces employ CBRN? Indicators: MOPP-4, DECON Site established, rapid retrograde movement to AH border NAIs: 5, 6, 7 LTIOV: Coalition forces massing west of OBJ Bravo DP: Increase MOPP protection, prepare for OSC-E retrograde movement

  2. ISR Overlay NAI 14 NAI 11 NAI 12 Purpose: The purpose of ISR support during Phase III is to confirm/deny Ahurastan’s MLCOA execution and to determine use of CBRN employment. Concept of ISR: ISR support from Phase II will initially to build on the ability to identify when AH will initiate combat activities against AZ as well as where SAPA forces will disrupt coalition activities as they move towards defensive positions. ISR focus will then transition to identifying locations AH needs to secure to continue the offensive, if the 18th will reinforce the Birmay Dam, the location of the IFC-E, and the probably employment time of CBRN which will signal AH retrograding back to AH in order to preserve combat power. Key Tasks: 1. Confirm or deny main avenues of approach used by AH and the status of LOCS. 2. Identify and support neutralization of SAPA forces ability to disrupt coalition activities. 3. Identify when and where 18 TD will be committed. 4. Identify and track the IFC-E. 5. Identify when the 84th prepares for CBRN operations. Priorities of ISR Support: Main Effort Supporting Effort NAI 2 NAI 3 NAI 4 NAI 13 NAI 8 NAI 5 NAI 9 NAI 6 NAI 1 NAI 7 NAI 10

  3. The answering of this requirement will trigger Decision Points for conducting the Air Assault IOT secure bridge crossing locations.

  4. The answering of this requirement will trigger Decision Points for commitment of Deceive Effort forces to cross Araks River.
