  2. The First Computer • The very first programmable computer was invented in 1936-1938 by KonradZuse in his parents basement in Germany. It was considered to be the very first electrical binary programmable computer.

  3. DEBUG!! • A retired Navy Admiral Grace Hopper, a pioneer back in the early days of computers had a main frame computer that was not working properly. She opened it up and found dead moth that was lodged in the computer and was touching two wires shorting them out. She ended up taping the moth to the Naval Handbook stating the computer has been “debugged”.

  4. Birth of the Internet • The internet started in 1969 by the ARPA. They created it to enable government engineers to research and work form any location on the network.

  5. Analytical Engine • The machine was thought up by mathematician Charles Babbage. It was a mechanical general-purpose computer.

  6. The Tabulating Machine • Herman Hollerith invented this machine in 1889. It was a mechanism using electrical connections to trigger counters, recording information.

  7. The ENIAC • It was the first general purpose, electronic computer. It was a tuning-complete, digital computer capable of being reprogrammed to solve a full range of computing problems.
