  1. Student Exchange Program (outbound) Faculty of Engineering

Student Exchange: Postgraduate and Undergraduate • 3 options: (a) 1 or 2 full semesters, (b) dedicated exchange programs, (c) summer programs (this do not have credit transfer, short, 2 months) • For full semesters: credit transfer must be explored. • Credit transfer – upper limit of 30% of total credit taken. • Credit transfer – MUST contain 85% overlap between the two courses. • Credit transfer – MUST do homework AND obtain written consent from lecturers involved AND Head of Department. • Be prepared to extend studies by one semester. • Cannot begin Final Year Project in Semester 2. • We have not began exploring internship overseas due to EAC regulations. • You will need to prepare : • Your CV (put a lot of attention to this). • Academic Transcript. • List of courses you wish to pursue (and if you wish for credit transfer, identify the courses on UM’s side). • Identify which institution(s). • Picking up on the language is optional. Some exchange program contains basic language courses.

Student Exchange: Our commitment for July-September 2013 • Resource persons, region, targeted number of students • Indonesia: Dr Judha Purbolaksono (EngD/M) • University of Indonesia: 5 students • Institut Teknologi Bandung: 5 students • Universitas Gadjah Mada: 5 students • University of Briwijaya : (?) • India: Dr Saravanan Pichiah (Civil) • IIT Kanpur: 5 students (possibly more) • IIT Guwahati: 5 students (possibly more) • Korea: Dr. Ahmad Khairi Wahab (Biomedical) • Inje: 9 students • Seoul University: 3 students

Student Exchange: Our commitment for July-September 2013 • Resource persons, region, targeted number of students • Scandinavian countries: Dr. Siti Nurmaya Musa (EngD/M) • University of Lund: 3 students • University of Aarhus: 3 students • Germany, Switzerland and France: Dr. Andri Andriyana (Mechanical) • RWTH Aachen: 3 students • EPFL: 3 students • Ecole Central Nantes: 3 students • Pembroke College, Cambridge summer program (Yan Mohd Alif, Hazman Hafiz) • Tecnologico de Monterrey summer program (Yan Mohd Alif) • Shell Eco team, Robocon team (?)

  6. Student Exchange: Policies • Open to all students (undergraduates CGPA > 2.5). • Final years can attend the summer program as a form of finishing school. Good for CV and career prospect.
