BioSec objectives • Enable new technology development in basic biometric technologies to leverage security, across biometric authentication chain: • Enhancing single biometric modalities • Voice, fingerprint, 3D recognition and iris • Multimodal fusion • Aliveness detection • Systemssecurity, interoperability,transactions integrity,... • Biometric storage in personal tokens • Put the technology to work and to meet requirements of real world applications in selected scenarios • Personal Biometric Tokens • Scenarios • Performance, usability and acceptability evaluation • Legal requirements

  6. WG6: Societal Aspects of Implementation of Biometric Technology The effective implementation of biometric technologies is highly dependent on users´ acceptance and trust. Relevant tasks concerning the implementation of biometrics are: • Standardised multi-modal measurements of acceptance and trust • General Attitudes: privacy, data security, etc. • Specific Attitudes towards biometric sensor technology: reliability, data security, invasiveness, • Development of standards to promote acceptance and trust of biometrics • Standards for data and privacy protection • Standards for user friendly design of biometric technologies • Performance, interface, handling
