  2. What is Move Time? Move Time is a process within the Banner HR/Payroll module that allows for Leave Cascading

  3. What is Leave Cascading? Cascading is an automatic process that will affect how leave taken by leave earning employees is processed in the Banner HR/Payroll system This process will run with every monthly payroll

  4. What is Leave Cascading (contd.)? The information reported on your timesheet or leave report will automatically process during the regular payroll cycle. For example, leave accrued (earned) for the current month (i.e. November) and time taken for the prior month (i.e. October) will be deducted according to the required order. In the following slides, the Cascading process MUST use comp time earned before other leave with the exception of Sick and Community Service Leaves.

How it Works Cascading Comp Time Types of Comp Time and the Order in which it is Deducted • OCCT – On Call Compensatory Time • If an employee has a balance in OCCT that covers the time taken, STOP. • CTOT – Compensatory Time Off 1.5 • If OCCT available does not cover the time taken, the amount will be deducted from CTOT,STOP. • CTGP – Gap Hours Compensation Leave, "Equal Time Off" • If CTOT available does not cover the time taken, the amount will be deducted from CTGP,STOP. • CTUC = Compensatory Time University Closing • If CTGP available does not cover the time taken, the amount will be deducted from CTUC, STOP. If comp time available does not cover the time taken, then Cascading will continue depending on type of leave taken.

If not enough Comp Leave, use Vacation Leave available. Exp: If Comp Leave available does not cover amount of Comp Leave taken on timesheet, amount will be deducted from Vacation Leave, STOP. If not enough Vacation Leave, use Bonus Leave available. Exp: If Vacation Leave available does not cover amount of Comp Leave taken on timesheet, amount will be deducted from Bonus Leave, STOP. If not enough Bonus Leave, Pay is Docked. • Dock Pay

  9. How it Works FY13 Special Leave Example Use any earned Special Leave FY13 if available. Exp: If SPLV available covers amount of SPLV taken on timesheet, STOP. If not enough FY13 Special Leave, use Comp Leave available. Exp: If SPLV Leave available does not cover amount of SPLV taken on timesheet, amount will be deducted from Comp Leave, STOP. If not enough Comp Leave, use Vacation Leave available. Exp: If Comp Leave available does not cover amount of SPLV taken on timesheet, amount will be deducted from Vacation Leave, STOP. If not enough Vacation Leave, use Bonus Leave available. Exp: If Vacation Leave available does not cover amount of SPLV Leave taken on timesheet, amount will be deducted from Bonus Leave, STOP. If not enough Bonus Leave, Pay is Docked.

  10. How it Works Sick Leave Example Use any earned Sick Leave if available. Exp: If Sick Leave available covers amount of Sick Leave taken on timesheet, STOP. If not enough Sick Leave, use Comp Leave available. Exp: If Sick Leave available does not cover amount of Sick Leave taken on timesheet, amount will be deducted from Comp Leave, STOP. If not enough Comp Leave, use Vacation Leave available. Exp: If Comp Leave available does not cover amount of Sick Leave taken on timesheet, amount will be deducted from Vacation Leave, STOP. If not enough Vacation Leave, use Bonus Leave available. Exp: If Vacation Leave available does not cover amount of Sick Leave taken on timesheet, amount will be deducted from Bonus Leave, STOP. If not enough Bonus Leave, Pay is Docked.

  11. How it Works Community Service Leave • Comm • Comp • Vacation Use any Community Service Leave available. If not enough Community Service Leave, use Comp Leave available. If not enough Comp Leave, use Vacation Leave available. If not enough Vacation Leave, use Bonus Leave available. If not enough Bonus Leave, pay is Docked. • Bonus • Dock Pay

  12. How it Works Voluntary Shared Leave Example • Comp • Sick • V. Shared • SPLV • Vacation • Bonus Use any earned Comp Leave if available. If not enough Comp Leave, use Sick Leave available. If not enough Sick Leave, use FY13 Special Leave available. If not enough FY13 Special Leave, use Vacation Leave available. If not enough Vacation Leave, use Bonus Leave available. If not enough Bonus Leave, use Voluntary Shared Leave available. If not enough Voluntary Shared Leave, Pay is Docked. * If there is unused Voluntary Shared Leave when employee returns to work, the employee may retain up to 40 hours that will be moved to Sick Leave. Anything over 40 hours will be returned to the donor. • Dock Pay

  13. How it Works Adverse Weather Leave Example Use any earned Comp Leave if available. If not enough Comp Leave available, Adverse Weather Leave will go into the negative and the employee will have a year to make up the time.

  14. Check Your Leave Balances • Please check your leave balances in MyCat prior to completing your leave report or timesheet to ensure that your leave balances are correct. • You can view your leave earned and taken per month by clicking on “TYPE of Leave.”

  15. What is New Additional codes beginning with the letter ‘C’ were created for internal leave processing to support the new leave reporting procedures. These codes DO NOT affect your pay. You will see these on your Direct Deposit notice and on your leave balance report on MYCAT. • CODES USED FOR LEAVE INTERNAL PROCESSING ONLY: • “C” Codes are NON-CASH Codes: • CAdvWTk Cascading Adv Weather Taken • CBonusTk Cascading Bonus Leave Taken • CCommTk Cascading Comm Service Taken • CSickTk Cascading Sick Taken • CShareTk Cascading Shared Leave Taken • CVacaTk Cascading Vacation Taken

  16. What is New SPA Non-Exempt Employees will no longer report Leave Without Pay (LWOP) on their timesheet. They should complete their timesheet with the type of leave they took that day. If leave balances are insufficient, the Cascading process will determine the Docked amount.
