  1. Morphological and histochemical detection of proliferating cells in ovarian follicle induced by anticancer drug study Roshangar L, Zarrintan A, Soleimani rad J Neurosciences research center, Drug applied research center, faculty of medicine, Tabriz University of medical sciences. Objectives Infertility problem affect more than 15% of young couples in different societies. One of the known causes of ovulation disorder is chemotherapy in patients with cancer. This side effect may last from ten years up to the end of the life. Since anticancer drugs are mainly insert their effect through decreasing of cell proliferation, the aim of the present study is to investigate, antiproliferative effect of anticancer drugs using electronmicroscopyhistochemical methods. Results Methods light microscopy showed that the ovarian antral follicles was decreased (figure1)in thiotepa group and many follicles have abnormal structure with decrease of cellular layers thickness(figure2&3), and electron microscopy revealed that in experimental group several vacuolated or ruptured mitochondria(figure4), nuclear chromatin was marginated and condensed with apoptotic cell features(figure5). A total of 30 bulb/c mice were used in this study. They were divided into control and thiotepa treated groups. Thiotepa was administrated as 2.5 mg /kg for 5 days. The mice were sacrificed after 5 weeks and ovarian specimens were removed, fixed in boueins fixative and 2.5% Glutaraldehide, then prepared for light and electronmicroscopic study.
