  3. WHO AM I?Lauren Malmstrom My Children: Zander, Theo, and Charlotte My Husband is Chris Malmstrom: Director of Spiritual Life at DC 3rd year serving in DC Homeschool. Substitute Teacher for DC A Michigan Wolverine! GO BLUE I love Jesus! I also love to be creative, go to the gym, hike, read, listen to worship music, hang out with my family, teach, travel, play games, drink coffee, and organize!

CONSTANT CONTACT: Regular emails will be sent the week of EXCEL with announcements pertaining to that week.

WHO DO I CONTACT? • We want you to help you as quickly and efficiently as possible. • Contact Lauren Malmstrom about enrollment, high school, employment, Special Education Assessments, discipline, concerns, or feedback about DC Homeschool or EXCEL. • Contact Susan Ebert about field trips, Ignitia, BJU Online, on-campus elective information, payments for anything, annual testing • Contact Jennifer Dreier about curriculum consultation, ordering materials and anything to do with the Homeschool Library • Contact your Academic Advisor about your child’s progress or general homeschooling questions. • Contact Finance Office about your tuition statement.

EXCEL Days 9:20 – 9:30 Enter through Door B & proceed to the Auditorium for Assembly *feel free to stay and watch* 9:30 Assembly: Students will be seated according to homeroom from youngest (in the front) to oldest *Please sign in at the C Lobby if you arrive after 9:45 2:25 – 2:35 Please pick up according to your Pick-Up Permission Slip (at the info tables!) *Be Aware! DC pick up begins at 2:45

  12. NEW: Pick Up Procedure Please complete the Pick Up Permission Form you received tonight. We need an “official word” what your pick up plans are. In order to maintain the safety of all students, Little Sibs through 4th Grade (and their older siblings) will remain in the Auditorium until a parent picks them up. Although 5th Grade through 8th Grade will be out in front of Door B, a parent must come up to the sidewalk to pick up their student. Please refer to the permission form for more details.

EXCEL Daily Schedule 9:20 Drop off in Auditorium 9:30  Morning Assembly AM Homeroom: 9:45-9:55 Period 1: 10:00-10:45 Period 2: 10:50 – 11:35 11:35-12:35: Lunch/Recess Period 3: 12:40 – 1:25 Period 4: 1:30-2:15 PM Homeroom: 2:15-2:25 2:25 Pick up Little Sibs – Grade 4 (and older siblings) in Auditorium Pick up Grade 5 – Grade 8 out front Door B

  15. What to bring to EXCEL Basic school supplies: markers, pencils, notebook Lunch or money for Chick-Fil-A ($5) – Turn in $$ to the Info Table on your way in Outerwear for the weather Picture Order Form if purchasing extra packages (first day) SMILES 

  16. What to wear to EXCEL • First day: DRESS NICE, it’s Picture Day! Unless you are notified otherwise… • Any DC logo t-shirt or sweatshirt • Any solid color polo • Khaki or navy pants, shorts or skorts • Shoes for outdoor play • Wear clothes that might get messy! • Little Sibs do not need to wear uniforms

  17. What NOT to bring to EXCEL Cell phones may not be used during the school day. Other Personal Electronic Devices Distracting Toys, Playing Cards (Pokemon), etc. Pocket Knives

  18. School cancellations are announced through DC’s “One Call Now”, on Facebook & the Homeschool Blog EXCEL is cancelled if DC is closed due to severe weather EXCEL operates on a “normal schedule” if DC has a 2 hour delay School Closings

  19. FIELD TRIPS • Sign up on the blog or Sign Up Genius and pay prior to the field trip. Signing up reserves your spot, payment confirms it. • Be on time early as a courtesy to families and the venue • Parents attend with students or arrange another adult chaperone. Grandparents love field trips  • Other siblings are welcome, when appropriate • If you need to cancel, please change your Sign Up Genius 24 hours before the field trip. Pre-paid field trips are non-refundable.
