4. Conflict • The main conflict is trying to stay alive. The story is man v man because people are killing other people to be the last person left in the games. It is also man v nature because in the conflict trying to stay alive you face Tracker Jackers and other dangerous things. Survival is the most crucial thing in the games.

5. Summary of Plot • Katniss and Peeta are the district 12 tributes for the “Hunger Games”. Through the games there were bonds and alliances made. Peeta and Katniss fell in love and that was what got them through the whole games. They were the last 2 tributes left but there was only supposed to be one winner, but was their two since they were from the same district?

Theme • “In the end love won” • Text Evidence 1: Peeta and Katniss thought they couldn’t live without each other so they were going to kill themselves. • Text Evidence 2: Their love got them through each problem they faced even when they weren’t with each other. • Text Evidence 3: Love won because the person controlling the game said they both could win instead of 1 because they had to have a winner. And if there was only one winner they were going to poison themselves with berries.

7. Point of View • The story is written in 1st person from Katniss’ point of view. It helps the reader understand what her feelings are. If it was written in a different point of view the feelings she felt would be someone’s opinion which that would bring a different emotion to the story,.

8. Symbolism • A symbol in the book was a gold pin that a market lady gave to her. It symbolized the story because it showed Katniss’ luck and her fierceness. It affected the story because luck was a huge part of the game.

9. Recommendation • I recommend this book for mature children and above. This book is definitely worth reading because it keeps you hanging and it is very entertaining!
