  • Geocities and Tripod (1994)

  • SixDegrees (1997) started the rises of social network sites. Shut down in 2000

  • Friendster (2002) improved upon SixDegrees

  • Myspace (2002) – became #1 social network site

  • Facebook (2004) – now #1 social network site
