  1. Metro Indianapolis Coalition for Construction Safety Overview of the MICCS Certification Program A Sampling of the “New and Improved” MICCS Website A Timeline for Completion of the MICCS Certification Program Cost Breakdown

  2. The Purpose of MICCS Certification • Promote Construction Safety • Continually assist companies to improve safety programs and performance • A web based database containing detailed information regarding contractor safety programs. • A tool for contractors to let owners use the detailed information to evaluate their safety pre-qualification.

  3. A “Sampling” of the MICCS Certification Website

  4. Once you click on register now, you will be posed with 3 options. You will choose Contractor by clicking on the red “Click Here” in the paragraph.

  5. The Company Application is split into 3 parts. • Contact Information • Company specific safety questions • EMR and OSHA Recordables

  6. Safety Program Review Scoresheet (SPRS) • Once payment has been received, you may reference each Section and Criteria. • Once all sections and criteria have been referenced, you will be able to submit for review. Important Note: The SPRS cannot be submitted for review until all mandatory items have been referenced and payment has been received.

  7. When you click on a specific item on the Index page, it will take you to a page that looks like this. • This is where you reference the location of the information in your safety program.

  8. From This Point On: • A reviewer will be assigned by the MICCS Certification Administrator. • Once the reviewer is assigned to review your safety program, they will score with comments. • You will be notified after the reviewer has submitted the scores and comments. • The notification will tell you whether or not your company met MICCS Certification Criteria.

  9. Important Items to Note • Just because you may not meet all of the MICCS Certification Criteria does not mean that you will be held off of jobsites. Each “owner” has their own specific prequalification criteria. • You can always attempt to increase your score or alleviate particular issues efficiently by resubmitting.

  10. Cost Breakdown • New Submission: $450 MICCS Members $600 Nonmembers • Resubmission: $300 MICCS Members $500 Nonmembers • Renewals: $400 MICCS Members $550 Nonmembers

  11. What Happens Year To Year Two important dates to keep in mind: • January 1 of each year – update your OSHA Recordables. • Your Worker’s Compensation Expiration Date – Your company will need to Renew

  12. The Ultimate Goals for Your Company • Achieve Certified Status • EMR below 0.90 • DART below 2.6 • TRIR below 4.6 • Score a 75% on the Safety Program Review • Pass the Home Office Audit • Achieve Certified Partner Status • Become MICCS Certified • Sign a letter of Intent with the Indiana Department of Labor and MICCS • Become a MICCS member company • Meet or exceed IOSHA’s industry specific standards for your company’s rates for the past 3 years.
