Conditional Clauses. if…. What are they?. Conditional Clauses are subordinate adverbial clauses that state a condition on the main clause . They can appear at the beginning or the end of the sentence If they appear at the beginning they need a comma.

What are they? • Conditional Clauses are subordinate adverbial clauses that state a condition on the main clause. • They can appear at the beginning or the end of the sentence • If they appear at the beginning they need a comma. • “If I win the lottery, I’ll travel the world” • “I’ll travel the world if I win the lottery.”

  3. They need a condition or a reason to happen… There are two parts… If reason / condition , Main Clause result

  4. 1st Conditional = Type 1 MainClause IfClause If FutureTense Present Simple , + will / won’t very probable – likely to happen
