FAMOUS BATTLES
  • Hostilities reached a climax in 1773 when land speculator, Michael Cresap led a group from Fort Fincastle at present day and raided Shawnee towns what became know as Cresaps war
  • In 1754 hostilities broke out between English and French troops in western Pennsylvania
  • English troop under a young commander Washington, overwhelmed by the French , which began a lengthy war for control of the American colonies
  • This influenced Delaware and Shawnee to side with the French

  • By 1775 Virginia was governed as a Royal Colony
  • In 1606 the London company and Plymouth company were formed
  • This enabled Virginia to be able to make money and make laws

  • In 1586 the colonists on Roanoke Island are forced to return to England due to hardships
  • Virginia government allows families to live rent-free for ten years on land owned by the state

  • Before they were famous for tobacco there were economic disasters, outbreak of diseases, and starvation
