CMS TDR status and plans

  2. Path to CMS Computing TDR • Computing Model paper being reviewed now • Did work using the RTAG approach: • 2 months of intense work • Will be distributed to LHCC for the 17-19/1/2005 review • Computing TDR will be produced by June 22nd 2005 • together with LCG TDR Second LCG TDR meeting

  3. Computing Model paper (1/4) • Data, Processing and Analysis model • Event model • RAW, RECO, AOD, (Heavy Ion) • event rates, sizes of data-tiers • Event Data Flow • Online streams and Primary Datasets, Express Line • Data flow to Tier-1’s and Tier-2’s • Event reconstruction • First reconstruction at Tier-0 offline farm • Level of availability of RAW data • Monte Carlo • Number of events and sizes Second LCG TDR meeting

CMS Computing TDR Will include: • Refined Computing Model • Non event data (conditions and calibration data) • Application software • Baseline plans for workload management, data management, book-keeping systems, etc… • specification of services • catalogues, information systems, etc… • specifications of technologies • Overall management plan for construction period • L1,L2, milestones • resource loaded schedules for baseline implementations • change control mechanisms Second LCG TDR meeting

LCG TDR We expect it will cover: • specification of Tier-0 • specification of technologies • for services (middleware) • for resources • overall management plan for construction period • L1,L2 milestones • resource loaded schedules for baseline implementations • change control mechanisms • final draft expected to be delivered for approval to CMS by end May 2004 Second LCG TDR meeting
