  1. Hemp Manufacturing vs Cannabis Laws Products made from Hemp come under FDA scrutiny and the laws governing the collection of Hemp are quite involved. There are three agencies to consider. The Food and Drug Agency being the important one as supplies of hemp fall under their laws or regulations. Also, to some extent the AMA (US Medical Association) is involved. At the outset it should be noted that Hemp is the same as Cannabis as far as the FDA are concerned. However, there is a type of hemp that rope is made from and the collection laws for this are different in that they are not so strict. Hemp is made from Cannabis sativa and is sometimes confused with marijuana, a different type of cannabis plant. The shape of the leaf is also often confused with the marijuana leaf. It should be noted that hemp has tetrahydrocannabinol content of only 1% whereas marijuana has a content of 20%. When smoked hemp can produce a high and therefore the FDA interprets this as medicinal use of hemp. Hemp collection legal firms have experience in the specifics re-collections for cannabis companies (i.e. CannaBiz). This means they have similar communication skills; Example, skip tracing to get through to their clients and increase the chances that these clients will pay their debts. Communicating with clients may start with phone calls, in which the company appointed attorney can explain payment options. Therefore, getting an agreement from the client and also a payment plan. However, should phone calls not be effective, a hemp collection law firm may have to send a letter of demand to the debtors at the same time explaining the impact of an unpaid debt. They can draw up a different payment plan possibly or re-submit the original plan. If they get no response, assuming the debtor has been contacted or in some cases disappears, the law firm can resort to skip tracing to find the person responsible. Once they have located the person to whom the debt is addressed they can take legal action or inform the debtor that legal action will follow. Sometimes this is all required for the person to decide that the payment plan option is the best option hence go for this. This is sometimes the best way to get non-paying clients to respond quickly and resolve the issue of the debt as soon as possible. It is also very important for hemp companies to provide a clear-cut contract to their clients. The contracts should clearly state the terms and conditions the hemp is supplied as well as the payment terms. This helps the attorney in the event of a suite of other form of legal action, especially if the client is asked to sign a contractual agreement for the supply. There can also be a clause stating the penalties for non-payment in the prescribed time allowed, it takes 30 or 60 days or more. In fact, it is best if the hemp company and the customer sign a contract so that it is legally binding. This contract, as explained, can assist the law firm in recovering any unpaid debt. There may be an issue where a client simply cannot pay the debt as per a drawn-up payment plan in which case the attorney can work with the client to determine whether another method may help. In some states, using hemp or cannabis products for medicinal purposes is legal and insurance companies may be willing to assist clients in their obligations more efficiently.
