  3. Management Plan Development • Rob Todd, TWRA Fisheries, began plan in 2002 • Final Draft completed in 2005

  4. There were no Alligator Gar Available for Restoration in 2002, 2003, or 2004.

  5. Recent Restoration Efforts • August 2005 13 gar 6-13” released in Hatchie River at Pocahontas, Hardeman County • June 2006 1145 gar fingerlings released in upper Obion River, Obion County • July 2006 1044 gar 8-22” released in Cold Creek and Open Lake, Lauderdale County

  6. Restoration Efforts Cont. • July 2006 1075 gar 8-22” released in Hatchie River at Pocahontas, Cox’s Bridge, Hornsby, Bolivar, and Hwy 100 in Hardeman County • July 2006 96 gar 9-18” reared at Warm Springs National Fish Hatchery released in Hatchie River Pocahontas, Hardeman County

  8. Alligator Gar were brooded at Pvt. John Allen National Fish Hatchery in Tupelo. Gar were marked with Binary Coded wire. Observation: Separate Gar by size at different release sites due to predation of smaller gar by larger gar
