  1. The Comanche's By: Caleigh Conway! Region Acquired Food I picked this tribe because I thought they were interesting because of the way they live and dress!! The Comanches lived on the Southern Plains. The Southern Plains extend down from the state of Nebraska into the north part of Texas. They hunted buffalo and elk. Mrs. Ruff 1st period 9-28-10 Because they moved around so much they liked things that were light weight and that did not break easily. This is why they did not make or use much pottery. They made and used baskets and leather to make containers. They also used animal skins and woven grass mats on the floors of their tee pees. One very famous recipe they had was fried corn They wore buffalo hives. The women made dresses for the girls and pants for the men. They ate roots, vegetables and fruits, and wild meat too.
